Entries for our first WPAS Homegrown Competition are now open!
What is the WPAS Homegrown Competition?
We want to encourage our WPAS students of all ages to keep creative, inspired and healthy at home during the latest lockdown restrictions... This is an opportunity to plan your creation of 'Original' work whether it's a dance, a song, or a monologue / scene.
There will be 3 Levels - Junior, Inter or Senior/Adult
An Adjudicator is currently being selected to judge our Homegrown Competition
We have 3 Categories -
1) Own Choreography
Styles you can enter:
- Jazz/Hip Hop
- Musical Theatre/Variety
- Duo Section
2) Original Song / Composition
Sing an original song (can be acapella) or perform your own interpretation of a song already written
Perform an original song on your choice of instrument
3) Self Devised Works
Perform an original Monologue, Poem or Scene
Who can enter?
Any student enrolled at WPAS
- Originality of concept or idea
- Passion & Expression
- Innovative Location / Landscape
- Choice of Outfit / Costume / Grooming
Can I enter more than one item?
Yes you can!
How much does it cost?
It costs $5.00 per entry (video)
This goes directly to paying our Adjudicator & being able to afford a small prize for our winners
When does my entry have to be in by?
Entries close 5pm Sunday 22nd August 2021
Please film your item in 'Landscape' (if you're filming on your phone it should be sideways)
Once you've submitted your entry we will tell you how and where to upload your final piece!
Tip: For some extra fun, learn the basics of iMovie or VideoMaker to add extra effects and design to your submission!
